University of Queensland Australia Honours Degree Scholarship for International Student, 2017

Applications are invited Institute of Molecular Bioscience (IMB) Honours Degree Scholarship at the University of Queensland in Australia. Australian and Permanent Residents or NZ citizens and International student are eligible to apply for this Degree Scholarship.

In order to gain entry to an academic program at UQ, applicants will have to demonstrate they have the appropriate level of English language skills. Applicants must at least 6.5 overall and a minimum of 6.0 in each sub-band of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or equivalent test. Some programs have higher English proficiency requirements.
Course Level: Degree Scholarship is available to pursue the undergraduate programme.
Study Subject: Degree Scholarship is awarded in all subjects offered by the institute.
Degree Scholarship Award: Degree Scholarship of $2,500 value will be awarded.

Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the Degree Scholarship:
Honours Degree Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit, research potential and personal attributes, such as leadership and community service. The applicant must be undertaking an Honours project full-time within IMB under the primary supervision of an IMB researcher.
Nationality: Australian and Permanent Residents or NZ citizens and International student are eligible to apply for this Degree Scholarship.
College Admission Requirement
Entrance Requirements: If applicants have completed Queensland Year 12 or equivalent Australian or international studies, they must also have a sufficient entry score to gain admission. Entry scores for each program ensure applicants with different qualifications, from different countries, meet the same equivalent standard for entry to a particular program.
English language/ Test Requirements: In order to gain entry to an academic program at UQ, they will have to demonstrate they have the appropriate level of English language skills. To meet the UQ’s English language proficiency requirements, applicants must demonstrate one of the following:
-a score equivalent to four semesters of Sound Achievement in Queensland Studies Authority English or Australian or international equivalent. Less than four semesters may be considered for some programs.
-at least 6.5 overall and a minimum of 6.0 in each sub-band of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or equivalent test. Some programs have higher English proficiency requirements; see individual program requirements.
-Other equivalent tests such as the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic are also accepted and other qualifications and experience may also be considered.
-Study Abroad and Incoming Exchange students are only required to meet the overall score (eg 6.5 IELTS or 87 TOEFL or 64 PTE).
